Mic Mac's Host First Father & Daughter Dance

Father & Daughter Dancehosted by Indian PathfindersOn Saturday April 4, 2009 the Mic Mac Tribe hosted their first Father & Daughter Dance at the James Mastricola Elementary School in Merrimack. Aggressive planning by Bill Cummings and the Mic Mac tribe paid off.

Close to 100 Merrimack fathers and daughters came out to party with the Pathfinders and DJ Willy. Throughout the night DJ Willy played some of today's hottest dance hits including the Cha Cha Slide, the Electric Slide and everyone's favorite, the Cotton Eyed Joe.

The night was capped off with a raffle for 4 Manchester Fisher Cats tickets. One Lucky Merrimack resident one the 4 tickets and will be joining the Pathfinders at the May 8th game.  This event was used as a recruitment tool for the Mic Mac tribe which has had a recent loss in membership.

Pathfinder members noticed the excitement from both fathers and daughters as they left the event. The tribe currently has a sign-up and information night planned for Merrimack residents on Wednesday April 8th, 2008. They are hoping to take some of the enthusiasm from the dance and turn that into new members. Good luck Mic Mac's. The Nation hopes to see a rejuvenated tribe at the Spring Campout.

Fisher Cats On A Warm Spring Night

Indian Pathfinders Tubing At Manchester Fisher Cats Game"Back, back, back...waaaaaay back...gone!" The Pathfinder nation's trip to see the NH Fisher Cats pull out a big win over the Connecticut Defenders was a classic in the making, and a fabulous night out at a ballgame for all who came to enjoy it. A sea of yellow Pathfinder t-shirts kicked off the night in a slow "parade" around the ballpark, soaking up the late afternoon sun and cheers from other family members in the crowd. The nation's participation didn't stop there with Christina Sadler tribe member of the Shoshone tribe throwing out the first pitch, and one lucky tribe member raced Fungo the Fisher Cat around the bases between innings. Then there was the "seat belt race" amongst the rows of Pathfinders in the crowd, and plenty of hot dogs, chips and sodas to go around. To have the Fisher Cats bust open a 5-5 tie in the 6th and close out with an 18-6 win was an exciting finish to the evening. Thanks to the Shoshone tribe for organizing the event and look forward to seeing you all there next year!

Pathfinders Enjoy Manchester Monarchs Hockey

Indian Pathfinders at Manchester Monarchs GameOn Sunday March 22nd Pathfinders members went to a fantastic Manchester Monarchs game.

Before the game the Pathfinders went to TJ's Bar and Grille in Manchester. TJ's donated Pizza to Pathfinder member for a pre-game party.

At the game Pathfinders enjoyed either a pretzel or a hotdog and a drink provided as part of the ticket package.

The Hershey Bears came out strong scoring within the first 50 seconds of the first period. The Monarchs re-grouped and tied the game up in the first period. The Monarchs then took the lead in the 2nd period only to lose that lead in the 3rd period. At the end of the 3rd the game was tied. In the end the Hershey Bears won against the Monarchs on a long and interesting shootout.

Thank you to the Abenaki tribe who hosted the event and to all that attended.

Indian Pathfinders Beautify Londonderry

On Saturday May 16th, 2009 the Southern New Hampshire Indian Pathfinders Carried on a annual tradition of giving back to the community that continually gives to them. Close to 40 members of the Indian Pathfinders volunteered for Beautify Londonderry. Each member had their own reason for why they volunteered their efforts. For some it was to give back to the Londonderry community, for others it was a way of spending time with Friends. No matter the reason the Pathfinders came out strong and accomplished their goals.

From the moment she was contacted, Carolyn O'Connor knew that she could count on the Pathfinders. Carolyn knew that each year the Pathfinders turn out in large numbers to give back to Londonderry. This is why she did not have any problems assigning the Pathfinders three important tasks. Steve Fawcett of the Montauk tribe was the organizer of this event for the Pathfinders. Steve knew from the start to complete the assigned tasks(mulching and planting at Moose Hill, mulching and Planting at the town Common and raking and mulching at Central Fire station) that he would have to rely on the support from all of his fellow members. Within hours of receiving the assignments Steve started the process of notifying fellow members and getting volunteers.

On Saturday May 16, the members met at the Moose Hill School in Londonderry to receive their clean-up assignments. The 40 members broke up into 3 teams to works on their assigned tasks simultaneously. Each team had similar tasks, which were to mulch selected area, provide a general clean-up and in some area's plant flowers. Members worked diligently to complete their task quickly and all teams completed their assigned areas within two hours. At the end, both fathers and daughters were able to look at the jobs they completed with pride and a great sense of accomplishment.

The Pathfinder Nation would like to thank Steve Fawcett and the Montauk tribe for organizing this yearly event. Their hard work in planning made this event a large success for the Pathfinders, taught the girls valuable lessons and everyone had fun doing it. Nice job Montauks.

Pathfinders Hold Annual Fundriaser

Indian Pathfinders FundraiserOn Saturday March 7, 2009 the Southern New Hampshire Indian Pathfinders held their annual comedy / silent auction night fundraiser at the Castleton in Windham, NH. The fundraising committee worked for weeks collecting donations from local area business's. In total close to 150 items were donated with a total retail value of about $17,000. Donation items varied from restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia to a 42" wide screen TV and Blu-ray DVD package.

During the first half of the evening guests were treated to a fantastic movie of Pathfinders at nation events, tribe events, and doing community service. Tori DeYeso of the Mohican tribe, showed her love for the organization by spending countless hours preparing the movie. Tori also donated a beautiful handmade necklace and set of earrings for the silent auction. The retail price was marked at $25 but the bidding was fierce for this item. At the end the winning bidder received this beautiful item for $45.
