Fall Campout - Summary & Pics

Indian_Pathfinders_Water_BalloonPathfinders kicked off the 2010-2011 season as we always do, with the annual Fall Campout. This year, we decided to try out a new camp, having spent the last couple of years at Camp Winaukee. We were certainly all curious as to how Camp Cody, on Lake Ossipee in Freedom, NH was going to work out. And boy, were we all pleased with the outcome.

The lake and long, sandy beach was just what the doctor ordered with the sun blazing overhead. Several tribes enjoyed a good swim, built castles and various other structures in the sand, or could be found out deeper in the water in a canoe with their dad...just drifting in the breeze.

Indian_Pathfinders_Inuit_TribeThe large open recreational area of Camp Cody proved ideal to host another water balloon lauch and catch contest. Dads and daughters could be found shuffling back and forth, working as a team (sometimes!) to attempt to haul in a balloon safely. Many weren't so lucky and enjoyed a good spray of water - which was half the fun anyway!

The comfort food provided by Camp Cody staff was a big hit - no complaints were heard about the variety and quality of food to keep the dads and daughters full of energy for the busy day/evening schedules.

Thanks go to Jim "Lucky Buffalo" and Adrianna "Beautiful Butterfly" Belanger for organizing and hosting the "Frozen T-shirt Contest. Well, for sure the daughters are thanking them...perhaps less so the dads who had the pleasure of donning the ice-cold shirts until they came up to temperature (hours later!).
