Londonderry Old Home Day

Indian Pathfinders Parade FloatSummer in New Hampshire is typically hot and humid, except for the summer of 2009. The summer of 2009 brought weeks or rainy, damp and cool days. With days like this, the Indian Pathfinders were hoping for nice weather for the Annual Old Homes Day celebration is Londonderry. The Pathfinders and all residents of Londonderry got exactly what they wanted, a beautiful, hot summer day.

This year the Pathfinders float was organized by Carlos Foseca of the Inuit tribe. Carlos worked hard with the float committee to give the Pathfinders and Londonderry a float that they could be proud of.  The float which was donated by Eagle Freight was the longest in the parade at a total of 53'. It was decorated in the spirit of the event which was Live, Laugh and Love. These are three things the Pathfinder members do best. Coming up with the design with the theme was easy with the input from John Parsons. His idea of printing pictures of daughters and fathers was a hit with members and anyone watching the parade.  The float also was decorated with the Nation Teppee , tribe banners and other items.

The Pathfinders once again had a booth at Old Homes Day which was organized and run by Dan Gore. Dan worked hard to make sure the booth was scheduled at all times. The booth had a craft (beaded necklaces) and a game (Plinko) for kids to come over and enjoy. Throughout the day, Dan and other members manning the booth showed kids how to play Plink, pass out candy and help make necklaces. There were also fathers on hand to answer any questions regarding the organization.

We would like to thank Carlos and Dan along with the committee members for stepping up and making the Old Homes Day very successful for the Pathfinders. Without their help and dedication this event would have not been a success.
